“These were his instructions to them: ‘The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”’
Luke 10:2 (NLT)
In this verse, Jesus points out the problem. He explains that there are so many people living without hope, and so few who are willing to share the gospel with them. Often, we get too caught up in the chaos of our busy schedules, and forget our true mission – to share the good news of Jesus Christ with those who are hurting and without hope. Take some time today to pray that God will break our hearts over those who are lost and give us an overwhelming desire to see them come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.
Prayerfully,
Madison

Here we see Jesus giving His disciples specific instructions. God was sovereign enough not to send them out blindly but to provide guidance and direction. As we go throughout our daily lives choosing to live each moment on mission for Christ, praise God for the guidance and instruction He provides us, and pray that He will continue to make us sensitive to His leading and direct our every step.
In this verse, we see that Jesus sent His disciples to places He planned to go. They were to prepare the people and make provisions for Jesus’ visit. In a similar way, God has strategically placed us precisely where we need to be in order to prepare the people and the area for His visit. As His disciples, it is our job to sow seeds in the lives of those God places along our path. Only then can the Holy Spirit water and grow these seeds unto a bountiful harvest.
